Interesting take

(5 stars)

Excellent reading. Quite a statement of attitudes towards classes in keeping people divided by going backwards in educating classes of society

very relevant

(5 stars)

with jabs at education and politics, this book addresses relevant issues. it's hard to believe that it was written over 50 years ago. Excellent job by the reader

(5 stars)

fun story with twists and turns.

Great!

(5 stars)

Narrator is excellent! The story is clever and still holds relevance today. Thoroughly enjoyable

great satire

(5 stars)

Excellent send-up of the idiocy of progressive education and its consequences.

long, drawn out and unremarkable. although the narrator did a good job, the story was hard to follow at times. Not because it was complex, but I found myself falling asleep while at work, or driving. I almost stopped listening, but my OCD compelled me to complete the story. And I usually truly enjoy stories from this Era. But this was certainly not one of the great author's best works. I enjoy almost everything he's ever written.

Bravo from Borneo

(3.5 stars)

Really enjoyed this book and the excellent narration. It's hard to imagine that this was written 70 years ago as it loosely lends itself as an allegory for the politics of our time today. Guess this illustrates just how good H Beam Piper was as he peered into the future back then and predicted how politics would play against diversity and muddle truth.

An interesting idea

I can see a lot has not changed in politics since this was written! Maybe we are even further along than Piper saw in his time. I found it a little overly long and a little complicated remembering all the names and factions but it’s a good tale and a nice reading
