Clover is the fourth book in the popular What Katy Did series. After Katy's wedding, the focus shifts to her little sister Clover. Their brother Phil encounters serious illness in the winter, and Dr. Carr sends him with Clover to the mountains of Colorado. Clarence Page, their naughty cousin from the other books, lives nearby. This is not an Indian accent it is GERMAN. In the select tab (upper right corner of your screen) you may adjust the read-back speed where you may slow the reader down to where you may more easily understand her spoken English. Enjoy!!

disappointed

The book like the rest in the series is great. However the reader elle is very difficult to understand. I couldn't enjoy the book as I wanted to.

Really bad

Have really enjoyed the other books in the "What Katie Did" series and wanted to know what happens next but this audio book is inaudable. I usually have no problem with understanding accents but this Indian-ish accent is so strong and intense very few words are distinguishable. I tried to presever and really tried to concentrate on what she was saying but even this still wasn't possible to understand what was being said in one sentence let alone an entire book. Sometime on librovox there is a different reader for each chapter so if you get a bad reader it doesn't last too long or you can choose to just read that individual chapter to yourself but this Indian lady reads the entire book (if you can call it reading) leaving no choice but to read it myself. I'm just glad it's an option for me unlike the many blind librovox users.

ESL

To future readers, there is a Clover, version 2 to listen to... look it up. The first chapter is an ESL (English Second Language) reader. The story could not be followed because I couldn't understand it. I usually can understand any ESL person. Not this one.

I appreciate the reader's time and dedication. I think her voice is sweet and pleasant, but this reading is extremely difficult to understand. I like to listen to books while I work. However, listening to this was like listening to background music not listening to a story.
