Bulldog Drummond
The Deadly Stand In
by
Bulldog Drummond is a British adventure and mystery series centered on Hugh “Bulldog” Drummond, a former army officer who turns his energy and courage toward solving crimes. With his friend Algy Longworth often at his side, Drummond takes on dangerous cases that call for quick thinking, daring action, and a taste for adventure.
The radio stories bring listeners into a world of investigations, suspicious characters, and sudden peril, unfolding through dialogue, sound effects, and a dramatic cast. Drummond’s resourcefulness and steady nerve drive the action as he follows clues and confronts threats.
The series blends mystery with brisk adventure and a distinctly old-fashioned sense of daring. Its appeal lies in the contrast between Drummond’s composed confidence and the hazards of the cases he pursues, making it a lively choice for listeners who enjoy classic detective stories with an action-oriented edge.
