Favorite Sports Stories of Grantland Rice
The Hero
by
“The Hero” is presented as part of Favorite Sports Stories of Grantland Rice, a radio program built around sports stories associated with the celebrated sportswriter. The title suggests a focus on heroism in sports, bringing the drama of competition and the people who take part in it to the foreground.
Rather than a live account of a game, the program offers a spoken story for radio listeners. Its appeal lies in hearing sports material shaped into a narrative, with the excitement and human stakes of athletic achievement conveyed through performance and storytelling.
This episode offers a compact way to enjoy a sports-themed radio story, especially for listeners drawn to classic sports writing and tales of courage and accomplishment.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
