BURIED ALIVE By Arnold Bennett

(5 stars; 3 reviews)

An ingenious satire, "Buried Alive" is Arnold Bennett at his most charming and wittiest. The story follows a renowned but exceedingly shy painter, Priam Farll, who assumes the identity of his dead valet, Henry Leek, as a means of avoiding press attention.

This adaptation is dramatized by James Duckett, featuring David King as Priam Farll and Hylton as Alice Challice.

Even beats Wodehouse!

I absolutely loved this one! Bennett is a comic genius. The wife character was quite amazing. It's the slow buildup and unexpected consequences that made the humor most enjoyable. The reader was excellent also. It deserves 10 stars.
