On June 6, 1944, as D-Day unfolded, the Columbia Broadcasting System commissioned Norman Corwin to create a radio show to celebrate a potential victory in Europe. This led to the production of "On A Note Of Triumph," which aired on V-E Day, May 8, 1945. The program, narrated by Martin Gabel and featuring music by Bernard Hermann, was a monumental broadcast that received overwhelming praise and a record number of congratulatory messages.

The show was so impactful that it was repeated just days later, on May 13, 1945, garnering even greater response. Recognizing its significance, Simon and Schuster published the script as a book, which quickly became a bestseller. Corwin's work is celebrated for its eloquence and powerful message, standing as a testament to the fight for freedom and the enduring power of the spoken word.

So far so good

Haven't listened to entire thing yet- sounds good, but the audio seems like it's been compressed too much, that is, I wish it were in FLAC or wasn't so "crammed" into a file size that appears to have caused a loss in the very highs, lows. Either that or it was what they call "cleaned up" using some software. The content itself I am glad it is archived. All these things are part of US history and should be.
