2. Information We Collect

• Reviews, ratings, and book lists you create
• These may be visible to other users

Usage information

• What books you browse, play, or interact with
• App activity, such as features used and session activity

Device and technical information

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• IP address and general location, such as country or region
• Device identifiers, such as advertising IDs

Analytics and diagnostics

We use tools like Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to:

• Understand how the app is used
• Diagnose crashes and performance issues

Advertising data

We work with advertising partners such as Google AdMob and Adswizz, which may collect:

• Device identifiers, such as advertising IDs
• Information about your interactions with ads
• General usage data to support ad delivery and measurement

Email engagement

If you receive emails from us, we may collect:

• Whether you open emails
• Links you click

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the service
• Personalize your experience, such as recommendations and notifications
• Improve the app and fix issues
• Show ads, which may be personalized depending on your settings and consent
• Send occasional marketing emails

We use third-party advertising partners to show ads in the app.

• Device identifiers
• Usage data
• Cookies or similar technologies

to provide interest-based (personalized) advertising.

Your choices

In some regions, we provide in-app privacy controls that allow you to manage your consent for personalized ads.

These options are shown only when required by applicable laws and regulations.

You may also be able to limit ad personalization through your device settings, such as iOS or Android privacy settings, though these controls vary by device and may not fully disable all personalized advertising.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense.

We may share information with:

• Service providers, such as analytics, hosting, email, and advertising partners
• Partners who help us operate and improve the service
• Authorities, if required by law

These parties are only given access to the information needed to perform their services.

6. Data Storage and Security

We store data using secure systems, including Google Cloud infrastructure.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.

7. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed to operate the service.

• Account data is kept while your account is active
• If you delete your account, we delete the data described in Section 8 and keep only what is listed there
• Backups expire within 45 days. If a backup is ever restored, we delete again any account that had already been deleted
• Some data may persist in logs for a limited time

We do not store payment card information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:

• Accessing your data
• Correcting your data
• Deleting your data
• Objecting to certain uses

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, in the app under Settings, or on the web at /account/delete. The web page needs a verified email address on your account. If you cannot use either, contact us at support@bookdesign.biz.

• Deletion starts as soon as you confirm. There is no grace period, it cannot be cancelled, and the account cannot be recovered
• We delete your account and profile, listening history, favorites, book lists, reviews and ratings, notification and email records, and the email addresses linked to your account. Reviews, ratings and lists you made public are deleted, not anonymized
• This normally finishes within a few days and no later than 30 days after you confirm
• If you signed in with Apple in the app, we also revoke that authorization. If you delete on the web, remove LibriVox in your Apple ID settings

What we keep after deletion

• Records of purchases and subscriptions, with the transaction identifiers, product, dates and status needed for financial reconciliation and billing disputes. They are kept without your name, email or account link, and deleted three years after the end of the calendar year of your last paid period
• A minimal record that a deletion happened, with an internal account number and timestamps but no name or email. It is deleted 90 days after the deletion finishes
• Backup copies, which expire within 45 days
• Copies held by service providers that process data for us, such as analytics, messaging, email and advertising partners, which may keep them for a limited time under their own retention schedules

Subscriptions and purchases

Deleting your account does not cancel or refund a subscription. Cancel it in Google Play or the App Store to stop billing. If you removed ads with a purchase, you can restore that benefit on a new account after Google Play or the App Store verifies the purchase again. Your old profile, lists and history are never restored.

Data on your device

Deleting your account does not remove data stored only on your device, such as downloaded audiobooks. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it. You can keep using the free audiobook catalog without an account.

9. Children's Privacy

The service is intended for a general audience.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete the information.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The service may include links to third-party websites or services.

We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of the service means you accept the updated policy.
