The Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding is a shortened and simplified version of Hume's masterpiece A Treatise of Human Nature. It sought to reach a wider audience, and to dispel some of the virulent criticism addressed toward the former book. In it, Hume explains his theory of epistemology, and argues against other current theories, including those of John Locke, George Berkeley, and Nicolas Malebranche. Reseñas

An interesting inquiry

(5 stars)

David Hume's investigation into human understanding is a great example of the beginning rises of science as a reliable form of knowledge and of philosophies slow decline as the main form of acquiring knowledge. The recordin gs are mostly quite good. One monotone and a few slow readers, but otherwise great.

seminal philosophical text

(4 stars)

Really interesting, but found it hard to read, or out of date, in places.

Good Readers, Laughable Content

(5 stars)

A delicate work of skeptism. Need I say more?

Middling-quality recordings, deeply fascinating work.

Thank you for this group recording!

Interesting, some good readers

(5 stars)

He doesn't say anything groundbreaking, but it was interesting to hear things broken down. You don't usually think about thinking. If you're into philosophy, give it a listen. It's pretty short, so if you want something that'll wrap up in a shift this is a good bet.

Sophistry

(0.5 stars)

A classic example of the empty anti-intellectual rhetoric that flows from the left to this day.
