Recollections of the Civil War
Charles Anderson Dana
Leído por LibriVox Volunteers

Recollections of the Civil War records the events that took place during the American Civil war. It forms one of the most remarkable volumes of historical, political, and personal reminiscences which have been given to the public. Mr. Dana wrote these Recollections of the civil war according to a purpose which he had entertained for several years. They were completed only a few months before his death on October 17, 1897. Go to the e-book on this book's catalog page for some great illustrations and an index. (Summary by Preface and WoollyBee) (8 hr 12 min)

Inside The Civil War

Keith Horvath
Excellent history with great insight into the Generals and how they fought, thought and their personalities. Charles A Dana had taken great and many passages to his involvement with Lincoln, Secretary Stanton , the Generals and every battle in the West. Grant has his foibles yet was a great General with organization understanding battlefields and was a strategic genius.

Excellent text, however, does require a good knowledge of the Civil War and the top players on both sides.
