A LibriVox Listener
Peter Yeardsley (sp) is my favorite Librivox reader and he totally fits the horror genre with that balanced tone and his prosody is superb!

Well Written, Well Read
Very good reading of some pretty creepy stories.

A LibriVox Listener
Definitely one of the more memorable stories in the selection, largely due to Mr. Yearsley's well modulated voice. Perfect balancing down to the last eerie intonation. Brilliant reader.
Good Listen...

Fun stories. Reminded me of the "Dark Fantasy" series.

Although I shy away from most Librivox books, ( it seems most people with a burning desire to donate their narration skills have those very chipper voices that read everything as if they're doing kindergarten library hour), Peter Yearsley is a pleasure. He is also a very polite and kind gentleman, and actually took the time to answer the emails I sent complimenting him. The only drawback is that there are not more E. Nesbit stories narrated by him.
Entertaining but all sad endings

First of all 5 stars to the narrator Peter Yearsley. What a lovely voice. The stories are really all rather more sad than scary. They are ghost stories almost with a moral. I enjoyed the stories and they were short, made for nice light entertainment while driving.
So Romantic...

yet so tragic. Of course I am not giving anything away because, well, the books title tells it like it is. Peter Y. gives so much inflection to each character you are absolutely absorbed into the story.
