Temple Trouble
H. Beam Piper
Lu par Phil Chenevert

Did you know that our little earth is not limited to the single time line on which we happen to live? There are actually thousands, no millions of parallel times, each existing alongside all the rest. Some extremely primitive, some very advanced, bot all unaware of the others. Of course this does not affect us at all, unless ... unless one of these time lines discovers the existence of the others and then a way to move easily back and forth from one to the other. Then a few problems might happen. Well, it has happened and the ParaPolice are kept busy sorting out things like what happened here ... (1 hr 20 min)

I found the story to be a tad boring. The narration was as usual very well done!!

Seek the light
Phil C reads with his consistent high quality. Piper’s story is unremarkable but short. Had it been long it might have proven unfinishable. The brevity made it enjoyable enough. The back story of industrial espionage could have been interesting but there is dissonance between the let’s exploit the universe with ultra advanced technologies to harvest fossil fuels while having a hierarchy of play fair business rules is ridiculous but amusing enough in the small dose of this story
Delightfully Read

I’m fairly sure that I’ve heard this story, read by somebody else, but I’ve listened to the current readers version as I know him to be an excellent reader and it’s a very enjoyable story. Well worth my time.

A very creative way to exploit underdeveloped civilizations. Very imaginative and fun to listen to, especially with Phil on the job. He makes any read a Good Read! 0825
