A Journey to the Centre of the Earth
Jules Verne
Lu par LibriVox Volunteers

The story involves a German professor (Otto Lidenbrock in the original French, Professor Von Hardwigg in the most common English translation) who believes there are volcanic tubes going toward the center of the Earth. He, his nephew Axel (Harry), and their guide Hans encounter many adventures, including prehistoric animals and natural hazards, eventually coming to the surface again in southern Italy.

Amazing.

An amazing read by all participants, but I love the feeling that Lars Rolander's accent brings to this thrilling and educational tale. No hesitation, no question, no problem. Would dearly love to hear him do a full narration of this.

libravox again mixing up between different readers. making it hard to get stuck in and visualize due to different styles of reading. please take advice on board and stick to one volunteer reader per novel
I wish there was only one person reading.

Fantastic book, the reading of which would be 5 stars if the reader who sounds American, read at a normal speed, rather than the very fast speed he uses. Fortunately, the Librivox app allows one to adjust the playback speed, and .9 is reasonable, where 1.0 is way too fast. And now a different reader, who speaks way too slow. Again, fortunately, the app allows one to adjust the speed. I agree with other reviews, one very good reader makes even an average book fantastic; multiple readers in this case almost spoils a very good author's book.

I have to read this book for school, I’ll say I was not too amused of that fact when I first started reading it, though now my opinions have changed. This is a great classic of literature for anyone who enjoys science and sci-fi novels; I highly would recommend you read it if you have never read any books published by Jules Verne.
