Good story

A man is found murdered in a locked room, and his grandson Bobby is suspected of the murder. A detective is called in and collects evidence against Bobby, but Bobby is not able to defend himself because he can't remember what he did that night. Then, sounds are heard from the murder room, and a woman in black is seen haunting the cedars around the house. Is Bobby a murderer or is something more sinister lurking in the Abandoned Room? The story was good, but I was bothered a bit by the recordings. I use sealed headphones because I work in a noisy office, so I tend to hear all of the noises in the sound files. These files had some high pitched sounds that hurt my ears. I was able to filter them out using the GE, but it did detract a bit. Still a good story tho and well worth a listen.
Wow

I had a hard time putting this one down. You never really know if it is a ghost story or a rational mystery, until everything is solved. Excellent readers, especially Jules whose sober and maybe a bit somber reading fits marvelously to the plot. Go for it!

The readers do just fine. Try one with a thick accent & see the difference. The story is decent.
good story
Naomi Edwards
well written book with atmosphere and mystery. However I am struggling to agree with comments stating that this story is well read. I find the reader is stumbling and stuttering over the pages and his voice is quite monotone. Maybe the reader is trying too hard to sound eerie and creepy. Whichever, he spoiled the book for me. Otherwise it would have been a delightful tale.
Nice

Voice is stern and stumpy at few situations but really great description, too much dialouge, but helped create that feeling that just get on with it, known as suspense ;-) nice...... ??
Thoroughly enjoyable

Good plot, good reading (the voice of Jules very well fits the mystery/atmosphere of the story line).
Very Basic
A LibriVox Listener
Very slow to follow unnecessary dialogue.
Why do the same flaws keep happening?

The reader of this story always the same bit of an atmosphere and sound like he is recording in a huge empty room which gives him a sort of echo effect. Doesn't anyone with some kind of authority listen to these things and make corrects as necessary?
