Great Reading

This was a very enjoyable experience to listen to but a very odd story and not as funny or clever as others by the same author. I'd call it black humor, and the authorial intrusions just don't work. There are only two or three sympathetic characters. It's hard to like the princess although it is clear the author wants one to. Nice portrayal of a small English village, and if an accurate parody of the Germans of the time.... Well, yikes!
Inspiration for "Roman Holiday"?

Charming story, beautifully read by Tabithat. Feeling caged in by the demands of her position and educated by the old court librarian to seek freedom, Her Royal Ducal Highness runs away to live a simple life. The problem is that neither she nor the librarian have any clue how to live simply and humbly, and in a different country's culture, at that. Hijinks ensue. It reminded me of Roman Holiday, but without the pyjamas and street brawls. Highly recommended! Recording quality was great also.
The Path To Happy Ever After

TLocke
A sort of reverse Cinderella tale. A good story, not her best. it is well read, and good for a fairly mindless bit of exploring the "Nobile Simplicity" of a quiet rural village life.

Good reader, thankyou. Think this was a satire about emotions and a spoof of people's guile. not always nice but true. It was however to long.
