Glenn Miller’s radio music offers a polished blend of swing and dance-band sound, led by the trombonist and arranger whose orchestra became one of the era’s best-known big bands. The program centers on instrumental performances, with the ensemble’s tightly arranged brass and reeds giving the music its distinctive, buoyant character.
“Southern Drawl” is identified as the featured selection. Listeners can expect a period band performance shaped by clear melodies, a steady dance rhythm, and the coordinated sound of a full orchestra.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
