Have Gun – Will Travel

Paladin is a cultured, highly skilled gunfighter who offers his services to people in trouble across the American West. Based at San Francisco’s Hotel Carlton, he advertises with a calling card bearing the words “Have Gun—Will Travel,” and takes on jobs that call for judgment as much as marksmanship.
The radio series follows Paladin from one assignment to another, bringing him into contact with ranchers, townspeople, travelers, and others caught in difficult situations. Stories often turn on questions of justice, loyalty, and the cost of violence, with Paladin weighing the circumstances before deciding how to act.
John Dehner’s measured performance gives Paladin a polished, thoughtful presence, while the Western setting supplies the danger and atmosphere. The result is an adventure series with a reflective edge: its hero may be a gun for hire, but his choices are guided by a personal code.
