The Six Shooter
The Silver Buckle
by
The Six Shooter stars Jimmy Stewart as Britt Ponset, a wandering cowboy whose travels bring him into contact with people facing difficult choices and unexpected trouble. Britt is a capable gunman, but the stories are shaped as much by his judgment, decency, and willingness to help as by the dangers of the Old West.
Each installment is a self-contained Western drama, told through radio dialogue, sound effects, and music. The changing towns and encounters give the series room for suspense, human conflict, and moments of humor, while Britt’s steady presence ties the stories together. Stewart’s relaxed, distinctive delivery makes the character feel approachable without diminishing the tension of the situations he meets.
The result is an intimate, character-led Western: less about constant gunplay than about how people behave when circumstances test them. Its blend of frontier adventure, moral choices, and Stewart’s warm performance makes The Six Shooter an inviting listen for fans of classic radio drama.
