Leído por John Greenman
Cup of Gold: A Life of Sir Henry Morgan, Buccaneer, with Occasional Reference to History (1929) is John Steinbeck's first novel, a work of historical fiction based loosely on the life and death of 17th-century privateer Henry Morgan. It centres on Morgan's assault and sacking of Panama City (the "Cup of Gold"), and the woman (La Santa Roja, or the Red Saint) he seeks there, reputed to be fairer than the sun. As of January 1, 2025 the book is in the public domain in the United States, becoming the first of Steinbeck’s novels to no longer be under copyright. - Summary by Wikipedia (8 hr 1 min)

I listen to books every day on LibriVox. This book attracted my attention because it was a John Steinbeck authored work, but principally, I was attracted to it because of the reader who is John Greenman who's narrations or readings I love. I would listen to John Greenman Read the telephone book if that were an option. However, I fell asleep while he was reading. And when I woke up the software said that I had completed listening to the book and so I find myself reviewing it even though I wasn't paying attention. I am not interested enough in the subject matter to go back and play the parts I missed. I'm sure it's a good book, but you couldn't prove it by me.
