Frontier Gentleman

par

Frontier Gentleman is a Western radio drama following British journalist J. B. Kendall as he travels across the American frontier in the 1870s. Reporting for a London newspaper, Kendall encounters the people and conflicts shaping life in the West, bringing an outsider’s perspective to stories of frontier communities.

Each installment is presented as one of Kendall’s dispatches, combining his first-person narration with dramatic scenes and sound effects. The series moves among varied Western settings and situations, including encounters with settlers, lawmen, outlaws, and Native Americans. John Dehner stars as Kendall, giving the character a measured, observant voice that anchors the changing stories.

The result is a thoughtful, atmospheric Western, more concerned with people and their choices than with nonstop action. Its blend of travelogue, journalism, and drama offers a distinctive view of the frontier through the eyes of a visitor trying to understand the world he reports on.
