The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
This is the 11th issue of Volume 4, containing six stories:
> The Redlighting of Dumont, by Clarence Maiko: a greedy circus director's evil plan has a surprising outcome
> The Bumblebee Cure, by Marion Mills Miller: an ingenious plan to keep people from drinking alcohol
> The Scarlet Handkerchief, by T. H. Chalmers: witness the dramatic duel between these two highly opposite characters
> Parker's Polar Plasters, by Erin Graham: how a scientific invention almost ruined a betrothal
> The Master Move, by George E. Gardner: this brilliant chess-move was invented by an unusual master-player
> At the Sign of the Wildcat, by Katharine P. Clarke: listen to the sad story of a broken heart
