Lights Out - 71 Episodes of the Old Time Radio program


This upload contains 71 episodes from the Old Time Radio show, Lights Out. Although the show, devoted to tales of horror and the supernatural, aired in multiple series over a 14-year period, only a small portion of the episodes survive.

The dates, episode numbers, and titles are believed to be correct based on available information. While I tried to put together a collection that contains the best version of each episode, there may be better copies of some recordings available from collectors and dealers.

We OTR enthusiasts owe a huge debt to those who have worked tirelessly to discover, acquire, and preserve these recordings. My goal is to ensure these excellent artistic expressions of our past are preserved for this and all future generations.

These are not all radio programs


Some of the really short programs here are actually cuts from a record album that Arch Oboler recorded in 1962 called "Drop Dead." The same thing was done with some of the older Lone Ranger programs: some of the earlier shows from the 1930s were "represented" by cuts from a record album made in 1948 explaining the origin of the masked rider of the plains. (Seems strange that Fred Foy is the announcer on those early shows, given his age.) On these Lights Out programs, anything under 10 minutes is definitely not a radio episode.
