Dr. Christian - 176 Episodes of the Old Time Radio Show


This collection features episodes of the Old Time Radio program, Dr. Christian, also known as The Vaseline Program and Dr. Christian's Office. Starring Jean Hersholt in the title role, the show aired for 17 years from 1937 to 1954. Dr. Christian served as part doctor, part philosopher, part counselor, and part detective for his patients and the residents of his fictional Midwestern town, River's End.

Aided by his assistant Judy Price, played mostly by Rosemary DeCamp, Dr. Christian provided wholesome entertainment based on traditional values while dispensing sage advice and engaging in good-natured meddling in the lives of the townspeople. The show was unique in that it was frequently written by fans, who submitted scripts through a yearly contest that began in the early 1940s.

Although over 600 shows were aired, sadly less than 180 appear to have survived to date. This collection aims to preserve these excellent artistic expressions of our past for future generations.
