Appointment With Fear: The Lost Episodes (1976-77)
BBC World Service
Here is a set of BBC radio thrillers from the late 1970s that seem to be pretty rare. Appointment with Fear was a long-running BBC radio thriller that began its run in 1943 as the British version of Suspense, complete with many of the same scripts as its American counterpart. The original series ran for nine seasons until 1955, but its mysterious host has never really left the British airwaves.
This collection features episodes from a brief revival in 1976-77, produced and directed by Derek Hoddinott. Each episode presents a unique story filled with suspense and intrigue, showcasing the talents of various actors. The series is known for its chilling narratives and engaging performances, making it a must-listen for fans of classic radio drama.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

a high relating for acting, production values, writing & the interest to radio drama buffs of hearing well loved actors in unfamiliar roles yet often betraying with a unique voice print of particular vowels , consonants &/ or breaths, who they have been/ played before - or later do so. If you persevere through the muffled distortion of age the story carries you strongly so it's less irritating. Thank you very much for loading these.
Highly enjoyable

I found these stories superior to a typical “Suspense.” Well written, acted and produced. The music from “Psycho” was perfect for this series and generated a nostalgic chill of its own. Thanks so much for making these available!

I'm always looking for new shows to listen to and these were GREAT! I didn't think the quality was that bad. BBC tends to make good quality stuff. I haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks for sharing them!
