Screen Directors Playhouse - Single Episodes
Screen Directors' Playhouse is a popular American radio and television anthology series that brought leading Hollywood actors to the NBC microphones beginning in 1949. The radio program broadcasts adaptations of films, with the original directors sometimes involved in the production, although their participation was usually limited to introducing the program and taking a brief curtain call with the cast and host at the end of the show.
During the 1950s to 1956 season, the series was also seen on television, focusing on original teleplays and adaptations of famous short stories like Robert Louis Stevenson’s Markheim. The radio version ran for 122 episodes and aired on NBC from January 9, 1949, to September 28, 1951, under several different titles, including NBC Theatre, Screen Actors Guild Assignment, and Screen Directors Assignment.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

My gosh! John Ford narrates and was the director of Stagecoach. And they had principal cast members. Audio quality is excellent!
