Originally transmitted from July 25 to August 8, 1985, Slipback was created to bridge the gap between seasons 22 and 23 of the television series. It marks the first Doctor Who adventure produced for radio, featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri as they navigate a mysterious space liner filled with intergalactic intrigue.

In this humorous tale, the characters encounter art thefts, a computer with a split personality, and a captain's disease that threatens all life aboard. The script attempts to capture the comic style of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, though with mixed results.
