Meet HARDCASE-DAVE COYLE! When you meet up with Dave Coyle-outlaw-you'll know why no jail can hold him, no sheriff outsmart him. You'll see why there aren't any bidders for that fancy price on his head. Coyle is the smartest, slickest man to come out of the West. The townspeople are afraid of him. They don't know whether he is bandit, killer, kidnapper—or all three. They've even heard that Coyle could be hired to kill. When you ride into Yellow Jacket you'll find the town bristling with questions: will Coyle dare to go to jail on the chance that he can help an old enemy? Is he going to pit his gun and brains against a shrewd gang leader? Will he shoot his way into the heart of a secret stronghold of rustlers? If you think it's impossible, just watch Dave Coyle as he blasts his way through one of the crookedest deals ever drawn up against a square shooter. - Summary by Inside book cover, Bantam Books edition, 1947 (5 hr 58 min)

Reseñas
Great Western

Linda in PNW
There are lots of stereotypical Cowboy actions and talk that make this story great. The plot is almost believable and includes tons of action. I could totally imagine this story as a movie. There are a lot of people involved. As for the reader, Ben Tucker is great. It feels almost as if he is telling a tale about people he knows. The story probably intended to keep readers guessing until the end, but probably most people figure it out sooner as I did. Recommended book.
Like a cowboy Jason Bourne

Very entertaining, the protagonist is quite clever and thinks on his feet. a somewhat complicated plot for a Western but still definitely follows the tradition. I'm curious that this is the only book by this author that I can find. Narration by Ben Tucker, who gives a particularly fine performance here.
Good

Story moves at good pace. I figured out who did it, but enjoyed following how the lead figured it out. Best of all is Ben Tuckers reading. He gives the characters a voice of their own.
Western fanatic
