This is a collection of 40 short (some VERY short) stories from Christian author Pansy. They seem to have been taken from her magazine for children, The Pansy (1873–1896). Some are pure fiction; some are historical fiction, and some are true accounts of historical events. (Summary by TriciaG)

These 40 snippets range from history to folktale to moral dilemmas. Several were written for the USA Centennial (1876), and bring up interesting bits of history. I think many stories would make good jumping-off points for group discussions today, as they were intended a century ago.
