Jimmy Clitheroe Collection : TV : Film Soundtracks

(4 étoiles; 1 critique)

From the Jimmy Clitheroe collection, this compilation features television soundtracks from the 1960s and film soundtracks. These recordings come from a personal collection of open reel tapes that were recorded in the 1950s and 1960s by the professional English comedian Jimmy Clitheroe.

In the 1950s, Clitheroe purchased one of the newly invented tape recorders, which became available to the public in 1955. He primarily used it to record his stage act, but also as a hobby to capture items of interest from radio, television, and records. Clitheroe, who lived in Blackpool, Lancashire, was a prominent figure in British showbusiness, performing in variety theatres, cinema, BBC Radio, and ITV Television with his cheeky schoolboy act.

He is best known as the star of the radio comedy series The Clitheroe Kid, which aired from 1956 until 1972. The recordings in this collection are copyright expired, as the 50-year period of broadcast copyright under the UK's Copyright Acts has lapsed.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
