Harper's Young People is an illustrated weekly publication for children that includes short stories, tales from history, natural history, poetry, puzzles, and other fun. This 37th issue of the serial was published on July 13th, 1880. In this issue, "The Moral Pirates" make an unexpected catch while fishing in this seventh part of their story, the young Fielden brothers seek to support family finances but their efforts take a harrowing turn in "A Crabbing Adventure", and Philemon and his friend run away and join a circus in "Philemon's Circus". Other highlights of this issue include a guide to finding the wildflowers of July in "Easy Botany: July"; a delicious description of "The Mangosteen" fruit; and, a macabre but fascinating history of "The Catacombs of Paris".
