The Late Tenant
Louis Tracy
Lu par Kirsten Wever

This is primarily a romance. It is one of the earliest works of the British journalist and prolific author, Louis Tracy, publishing under the pseudonym of Gordon Holmes. Tracy is best known for his later mysteries, including The Albert Gate Mystery and The Postmaster’s Daughter.
The story involves two passionate love stories – one tragic, the other just budding – wrapped in a mystery … with supernatural overtones, as well as a fair bit of classically British tongue-in-cheek humor. - Summary by Kirsten Wever (8 hr 35 min)

Critiques

Simona
I am dissapointed în the story, the events were so unrealistic and manipulated , în order to serve the author's purposes, that it was really infuriating. Also, the male protagonist, even if he was said to have brains and initiative,, was exasperatingly stupid when the author wanted to prolong a situation. Everything was very artificial, în my opinion.

This is a very good suspense novel. I like that the heroine has real agency. Sad in places but very engaging.
