I was excited to start this book but it quickly became quite boring. Cap may have had an exciting career but he was not an exciting author. Most of his book is a history of the (pre)MLB as he experienced it and not so much fun anecdotes and adventures of his time as a player. I did enjoy the chapters detailing the ‘round-the-world exposition especially the time playing cricket down under. But other than that it was very much a drag. The narrator was excellent and elegant but even at double speed he couldn’t save it. 6/10 recommended for baseball fans.
