The Great Emancipation (Mahaparinibbanasutta)


A translation of The Discourse about the Great Emancipation (Mahaparinibbanasuttam) which forms the 16th discourse in the Long Collection (Digha Nikaya) of the Buddha's discourses. The story of the last year of the Buddha's life in told in detail in six chapters, which include his final instructions for the Community, and his painful last journey.
