A little long, I think this was actually 2 books …the chapter count and book length are not correct. It is the 50-60% mark. Good news if you are enjoying he book because the developing story serves to develop the character. The female protagonist is emotionally stunted, frigid, because of a rigid class bias and over- punctilious sensibilities. It is a simple story, easy reading. Narrator did a great job.

A lot of unrequited gospel inspired love especially if you're a white man or he is a white man" not like those nasty niggers". ( my family).. Found that a bit tiring.... Celine did an incredible job at narrating!
