Agatha Christie The 4 50 From Paddington
Agatha Christie
The 4.50 From Paddington is a captivating dramatisation of Agatha Christie’s novel by Michael Bakewell. In a gripping moment, two trains run side by side, and Elspeth witnesses a murder unfold before her eyes. As she helplessly stares out of her carriage window, she sees a man tighten his grip around a woman’s throat, leading to a shocking turn of events.
With no suspects, no witnesses, and no corpse, who will believe her story? Only Miss Marple, portrayed by June Whitfield, seems willing to take her seriously. This production features a talented cast including Joan Sims, Susannah Harker, and Ian Lavender, among others, bringing the suspense and intrigue of Christie’s work to life.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Very satisfying performances; however there should be a credit for the introductory theme music including the especially velvety clarinet solo featured in the Mozart clarinet concerto clip.
Miss Marple is a treasure

Genuinely very enjoyable and of the kind of quality that made me think it might have been a BBC Radio play. I only saw later that I was right. A very worthwhile listen indeed.
