Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest is a thrilling adaptation for radio, directed by Gordon House. Set on a foggy night in a lonely country house, the story begins with a woman holding a gun, surveying the dead body of her husband. It appears she has murdered him, but in true Agatha Christie fashion, nothing is as it seems.

The cast includes Jill Meers as Laura Warwick, Alexander John as Michael Starkwedder, and Diana Bishop as Miss Bennett, among others. This gripping tale will keep you on the edge of your seat as secrets unfold and the mystery deepens.

All very well played roles, of course wonderfully written (being Christie ) however it could have used a narrator of some sort setting the scene in between the parts of the Dramatis Personae (Especially at the very beginning, as it jumps straight into the dialogue without any preamble)

A man comes to a house where a murder has just happened. His car broke down and he’s looking for help but gets swept up in the investigation. I listened to the radio drama on LibriVox (freedom boons) and it was very well done.

no narrator and bad VAs

there is no narrator telling us we changed scene and 2 va were very hard too understand, one toohard. he seemed indian which is odd for the time of recording. couldn't understand what these 2 guts (police officers?) were saying.

what a treat to listen to! my only complaint is that it was so short! I would have liked it to be longer.

It’s the first book from the author where I guessed the ending correctly 😂😂. It was definitely a lot of fun.

Quite apropos. The guest was quite unexpected.

A fascinating story that was well delivered. It could have been longer.
