Six Ways to Vermeer is a montage documentary about one of the greatest of the Dutch Masters, Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) of Delft. This program uses six of his paintings to explore various aspects of his life and fame.
Guests in the documentary discuss the strangeness of Vermeer’s paintings, his clever use of the camera obscura, his early and dramatic death, and how his fame has revealed a darker side to the art world.
The documentary features insights from notable interviewees, including Professor Philip Steadman, author of “Vermeer’s Camera,” and Anthony Bailey, author of “Vermeer, a View of Delft.”
