Credit goes to CHEOPS. Jonathan Myerson's dramatisation of Boris Pasternak's epic tale spans four decades of war, revolution, passion, and terror. This adaptation consists of six episodes, each approximately one hour long.

In Episode 1, Yuri and Lara come of age on different sides of Moscow, their lives running parallel yet on very different tracks. Episode 2 explores Yuri's affluent childhood in Imperial Moscow, his career as a doctor, and his engagement to Tonya, which changes when he meets Lara.

As the story unfolds, Yuri struggles to adjust to post-revolutionary life in Moscow, faces civil war in the Ural mountains, and endures captivity by Red partisan troops. The final episode reveals the dire choices faced by Yuri, Lara, and Pasha amidst the Bolshevik purges, culminating in one last meeting.
