Wild Bill Hickok aired from April 1, 1951, until December 31, 1954, over the Mutual Broadcasting System. The show was later adapted for television from 1955 to 1958 and was sponsored by Kellogg Cereals, targeting a younger audience.

Guy Madison portrayed Marshal Wild Bill Hickok, with Andy Devine as his sidekick, Jingles B. Jones. Both actors reprised their roles for the television adaptation. The series featured simple plots typical of radio westerns, where our heroes would find themselves in predicaments, leading to gunplay and ultimately triumph.
