Strange Wills was a unique radio program that aired in 1946, produced in Hollywood by Charles Michelson and Teleways Syndication. The show featured stage and film star Warren William, who not only starred in the series but was also part of the creative team. The intriguing stories were based on actual wills, albeit with the names changed, and were compiled by lawyer-turned-author Ken Krippene from a decade of research.

The program explored the complexities and dramas surrounding unusual bequests and the search for missing heirs. Warren William portrayed Probate Attorney Warren Francis O'Connell, who narrated the stories as he observed them. The cast included notable actors such as Howard Culver, Carleton G. Young, Lurene Tuttle, William Conrad, and Peggy Webber, showcasing some of the finest voice talent from the West Coast.

Although the show ran for one season with 26 episodes, additional productions were in the works. Unfortunately, only a few more episodes were completed, and four are currently in circulation. The series was later renamed I Devise and Bequeath after Warren William acquired the rights, but his passing in 1948 halted any further productions.

This is a wonderful series of highly original tales which I enjoyed enormously. Warren William is outstanding in the leading role with some great actors in every episode. I can't recommend it highly enough.
