The Lonely Warrior

(4.6 stars; 7 reviews)

An idealistic American enlists and fights in The Great War. This novel focuses on his life after returning to the US “hard-boiled” and cynical, a disillusioned and embittered young man who has lost all interest in his family, his job, and his fiancé. Outraged by the fact of war, he takes refuge in apathy. It is the story of many others like himself who become lonely and discouraged and of their struggles to readjust to the changing world around them.
“It is a great book.” – William Allen White

excellent

(4 stars)

excellent depiction of a man made lost and lonely by the ravages of a lost lonely world of postering, greedy man. He sacrificed, he found no purpose, he had money, and work, it didn't fulfill, he delved to the depths to fulfill his fleshly lusts and it did not satisfy. He only ever found partial happiness because he never realized the fullness and purpose that comes in Christ the King!

A tale of decent spirits walking the walk a century ago. God bless us all.
