I am a huge GLH fan, and this is a re-listen for me. Thank you to the amazing narrator. The one thing that bothered me, and this is true for several GLH novels, is that the hero is a “decent guy” before becoming regenerated in Christ. GLH had a hard time making a male character who was flawed/actively sinning before Christ comes into his life. Just an interesting thought.

more realistic than most of her novels. Actually discussing soldiers killing their own commanders had to be revolutionary at the time.

I have to say some of her other stories do not come close to this one. Has to be the best!
Shorter good WW1 Romance

A good short read. Predictable, but a nice story with happy ending...almost a Cinderella story in reverse.
Well read, pleasant story!
