Hospitable Georgian
Thank you Karen for another fabulous reading! This was my third Scarlett pimpernel book to listen to. I must say that i think i am in love with this brave and daring hero! I can hardly wait for the next one. Listening sure makes cleaning, cooking, ironing and driving go by so much faster. So grateful for Librivox!

Love the story. But sadness sets in. I realized that Karen Savage reads no further in the series . Tried to listen to other reading performers but, alas was not able to finish Lord Tony's wife. I encourage others here to go type in Karen Savage and listen to those books.
Expression
Girl Next Door
I love how Ms. Savage reads--she doesn't feel the need to do extreme voices to the point that they're inconsistent from one book to the next, and at the same time, she retains the brilliant expression of tone and speed that a good reader needs. She's an inspiration.
So Very Enjoyable

This series was so exciting to a young girl's heart, when at 12 yrs, I watched it on our local PBS station. Listening, brings it's rich details into view, through the prism of mine own imagination.....which is always better than the movie....if I do say so myself... The Volunteer reader, KAREN SAVAGE, knows how to read with an intensity &, pace that matches one's own self-read tempo, which I do, so admire. Hours of enjoyment & several laughs at the dry wit of "Sir Percy".
Bravo from Borneo
Lord Jim
Once more Baroness Orczy produces a wonderfully twisting yarn filled with jeopardy and emotion. She also provides great insight into how the French revolution made the lives of the common people, it was suppose to liberate, so torrid. In this story, love overpowers and leads to betrayal, and our dandy hero faces each tight spot with his customary aplomb and cutting wit. Karen Savage is as always sublime in her narration and truly brings each character to life.
truly appreciate the reading of this story

well read, only once did I notice the intonation being off at all. I can't imagine how much practice this takes, but I would easily recommend Karen Savage's readings to anyone. the book Is also a favorite from years ago. well played, and generally holding in suspense of how the Pimpernel could POSSIBLY get out of this one.
A Masterpiece
A lover of classics
I've read the scarlet pimpernel before but all of Karen Savage's librivox recordings have made it new and fresh a second time. Her voice animation allows the listener to not only hear the attitudes and actions but see them as well. In love and hoping she reads more classics for the enjoyment of others. Thank you Karen and librivox.
Wow!

Fantastic story, read as always with excellence by Karen Savage. Sir Percy is the kind of hero we want to believe in and so will overlook small inconsistencies and departures from reality! This book values devotion, loyalty, forgiveness and self-sacrifice and contrasts these with the cruel conniving of Percy's enemies.
