Lu par LibriVox Volunteers
Bowles came from a line of Church of England clergymen. His great-grandfather Matthew Bowles, grandfather Dr Thomas Bowles and father William Thomas Bowles had all been parish priests.
In 1789 he published, in a very small quarto volume, Fourteen Sonnets, which were received with extraordinary favour, not only by the general public, but by such men as Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Wordsworth. - Summary by Wikipedia (0 hr 15 min)
