Tom Grayson returns home from a quick errand to discover that his family and guests have all mysteriously disappeared. Prior to this chilling discovery, he has been tormented with guilt by a secret that only he and a former lover share: the two have witnessed a brutal crime that Tom has refused to report. He knows that alerting the authorities would jeopardize all that he holds dear in life: his family and career. In a desperate search to find his missing family, Tom embarks on a journey that can only be described as nightmarish and surreal. When it becomes increasingly clear that Tom may lose something even more precious than his comfortable existence, his priorities in life shift dramatically as he becomes an unwitting detective with a mission. But will it be too late for him to set the record straight?

I really like this one

(5 stars)

First let me say I guessed it was a dream but WOW What a dream.. Although I was miffed that he left the axe after killing Bummer :( .. I really enjoyed listening to it and at this point I am only at chapter 21. I love where the dream ended because you just knew he was about to experience a serious mind f**k. Nice job so far!

no

(0.5 stars)

0/0, would not recommend. The first half of the book is wasted on an absurd dream sequence. The second half is ridiculous. Dialogue is structured properly but poorly executed, like a sturdy house with the siding put on with craft glue. Characters are soulless and unbelievable. Villains are cartoonish caricatures. Tom’s family are cardboard cutouts, so it’s no wonder he left them.

Great story

There are people that are saying part of this is absurd. But that is because they are idiots and didn't understand the story. Its about a selfish man feeling guilty and trying to change things. I loved the bit with Erin at the beginning. Well done scott keep it up!

I think the whole premise is fascinating and can't imagine anyone not being compelled to keep listening to find out where things will go. Great ideas and an easy listen. My major suggestion might be to combine some chapters. Such short episodes interrupt the whole flow and magnifies any flaws. ...

This was a great book!! Lara is just one of those people that can probably NEVER be satisfied!! This and Mayday kept my attention completely and left me wondering what was going to happen next!! You do have a "funny" voice for the women...but that didn't keep me from wanting ...

Further more I would HAVE NEVER KNOWN that it was a dream except for reading LAra's comments...so i was waiting for that while listening...she ruined that part for me, but did not deter me from wanting to continue with the book.. and as for the epiphany!!! DAH LARA!! that's what ...

The story line was really exciting, with a great moral lesson in the end. I am however, appalled by the cursing and using our Saviors name in vain. I believe the writer is talented enough to give a great story without the swearing...

(2.5 stars)

Very annoying music at the end and beginning of every chapter that really gets on your nerves and totally unnecessary, otherwise it would have been five stars.
