Ms. Elizabeth
"For the honor of the family name", a scoundrel is allowed to continue their wickedness. How is that possibly call "Honor". I believe it more honorable to stop and expose evil, than hide it.

Good story, fairly good reader

westovem
Interesting story and worth a listen. Sharon Kilmer is a good reader, though there was a mispronunciation in Chapter 10 - the word is "apoplectic", not "apocalyptic".

There's a lot of unrequited love for 1 man, selfishness, & gypsies in this story. There is a murder to solve but there is more of a focus on the characters. The summary is accurate.
Too much gypsy speech

Reader is great, but the story is drawn out and not so interesting

I found this to be an interesting story and well read.
THE ULTIMATE ALLEGORY

AVID READER
Hume never wastes time with a drawn out ending.
Good story, reader mispronounces a lot

A selfish, gluttonous lord, eating himself into deep debt, forces his sister to marry a rich man without love, so the lord can suck as much money out of him as possible. The sister does so, and honorably - she represses the love she has for her cousin, poor, and heir to the title. And the cousin is honorable, too, staying away from her, staying busy by painting a beautiful gypsy girl in a cottage in the woods, near the gypsy camp. Then the troubles begin. Good story; reader has so many mispronounced words, they're in every chapter. "Sententiously" is a common one, but excusable, I suppose. But "funeral pyre" in the second last chapter? I applaud her putting herself out there, but it certainly grates on the ears to hear so many mispronunciations.
