"Lonesome Gal" was broadcast across America on Monday nights, featuring sponsors such as Bond Street Tobacco and Red Top Beer. The program was designed to connect with its audience through the charming and playful voice of the Lonesome Gal, who would invite listeners to relax and enjoy her company.
With her signature line, she would say, "Hi Babeeeeee .... this is your Lonesome Gal .... & I want you to sit back, kick off your shoes, & light up a pipe-full of Bond Street Tobacco, so you can relax with a gal that loves you ...." The show blended humor and warmth, making it a delightful experience for its listeners.
As the music faded, she would leave her audience with a gentle reminder of her affection, promising to return the following Monday. This program was truly ahead of its time, offering a unique blend of entertainment and charm.

A Real Hoot
brickmush
A guy's version of the famous early TV show, Renzo Cesana'a "The Continental". This seems to predate "The Continental" though. Instead of a Latin Lover type cooing soothing love words to the tired housewife, in this one we get a good ol' American gal breathing heavy words of romance to the lonely guys out there, especially those who smoke Bond Street tobacco. I listen to OTR programs on my iPod in a regular rotation, and I like to follow this show up with "Moon RIver". It's quite a combination.
Ooh là là!

Love the stuff that borders on psychotronic, like this. And dear brickmush thanks for the referral to moon river, big boy, similar early corn sponsored by a mattress factory. I hope you're not a lonely guy, but at least you know where to go for treatment by a lonely nymph. And I do mean
