Stephen: A Soldier of the Cross

This is a unique sequel to the book Titus: A Comrade of the Cross written in a very different style, though none the less memorable, full of excitement and suspense! The author combines several stories together with great skill and ease, creating tension, making you wonder how things can play out until the very climax is reached. A blind girl and her brother just barely surviving in Egypt, threatened by the slave trade, almost without hope, one day hear about miracles happening in Jerusalem. They fly for their lives, hoping against hope and when they finally get there they find themselves at the foot of the cross. Is it too late? Was all their suffering for nothing? (Summary by Fiddlesticks) (8 hr 34 min)

Mick Rae
Great story. I love the way the characters of the bible are brought to life and so much scripture is included in their speech. I agree with some of the other reviews that say one of the readers, though full of expression, needs to slow down so her words can be clearly understood. Even with the playback speed slowed down her words run together a bit. Don't give up reading though! You have a passionate way of expressing the characters' feeling. All up: a great listen and wonderful inspiration to stand firm in following Christ. Thankyou to all the volunteers who brought it to life.

The story is worth 4 and half stars. I was able to keep listening in spite of a few chapters difficult to listen to because I had come to love the character Stephen from listening to Titus first. The author does a wonderful job fleshing out this beautiful follower of Christ.
Another good book by F. M. K.

Very well written and mostly well read... One speaker does very well with expression but needs to slow down...
worthwhile

I appreciated most of this story except for the association of Jesus followers with violence which he clearly spoke out against

Sadly Rachel begins the reading so fast, soft and unclear that it puts the listener off. It looks like a great book.
Interesting story, good readings
