Winston Churchill Speeches

Lord Haw Haw: British Invasion Looms

English · History, Politics

Winston Churchill delivers a wartime address as Britain faces the threat of invasion. The title also invokes Lord Haw-Haw, the name associated with German propaganda broadcasts aimed at British listeners, and signals the tense atmosphere surrounding the speech.

Churchill’s speeches are direct public addresses rather than fictional radio drama: the focus is on his words, forceful delivery, and the urgent circumstances of the war. This recording offers a glimpse of the rhetoric and resolve with which he spoke to the British public during a period of grave danger.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
