Words at War
Battle Hymn of China
von
Words at War brought wartime stories and books to radio, adapting written works for dramatic broadcast. The program offered listeners a way to encounter accounts shaped by the Second World War through the immediacy of spoken performance.
“Battle Hymn of China” is presented here as the title associated with this recording. The series’ dramatic approach places the written material in a radio setting, where voices and sound convey its scenes and ideas.
The result is a wartime literary program: a blend of storytelling and drama that brings a work to listeners through performance rather than the printed page.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
