Alan Freed Show

Alan Freed's Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party #23

English · Music, Radio

Alan Freed brings the excitement of early rock ’n’ roll to the radio in this music-centered program. As host, he introduces the performers and songs, giving the show the feel of a lively dance party built around the new sounds of rock ’n’ roll.

The listening experience is driven by the music and Freed’s on-air presence rather than a continuing dramatic story. His introductions connect the selections and keep the program moving, making this a snapshot of the energetic popular-music culture associated with the rise of rock ’n’ roll.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
